How to accomplish a Simple Enema

{A}  The most important thing you need to know about receiving an enema is too. "Relax"
Relaxation is a key main ingredient for taking and receiving an enema that is effective and produces a good result.

{B}  Communication.  If you are receiving an enema from another person you need to let the administrator how you are feeling if you are feeling uncomfortable, cramping or getting full.  The administrator should encourage the you to let them know how well you are doing.

{C}  Consideration is major part of enemas. The person administering the enema needs to make it is as comfortable and relaxing as possible for the recipient.

Steps for a Simple Warm Water Enema

(1)   Choose a warm comfortable place for your enema.   Collect all of the equipment you will need.
An  enema bag or  bucket with tubing, shut off and nozzle/rectal tube.
A 2 qt. or 2 liter or larger water container for extra warm water, towels, lubricant
Lubricant the anal nozzle/rectal tube. Super Salve  Surgilube.

(2)   Fill enema bag with warm filtered water (water should be approximately 105°Fahrenheit) make sure tubing clamp is closed, then open the nozzle or colon tube over toilet and remove air from tubing.  This eliminates the air from being injected into the colon where it can cause cramping.
Generously lubricate the anus. Lubricating the anus inside and out will allow easier insertion of the tube or nozzle.
Their are many positions for administering or receiving enemas ( Enema Positions).  Probably the most often used position for receiving and enema is lying on your left side with your right knee drawn up towards the chest.  It is very comfortable for the recipient, and allows easy access for nozzle or colon tube insertion.
After you are in a comfortable position. Gently insert the nozzle/colon tube and start water flow.  It should flow in at a rate of about 1 cup. per minute (8 oz.).  A good height for the enema bag should be approximately 18 to 24 in. above the rectum when you are in position for the enema.

If you feel cramping or uncomfortable clamp the tubing off and wait for the feeling to subside, this should only take a few seconds or a minute then you can resume the flow. Try to take the entire contents of the enema bag during one injection stopping and starting as needed. If you cannot hold the entire bag you can move to the toilet and expel.  After resting a few minutes then refill the enema bag and began process again trying to take the complete bag.

When receiving the enema:
Massaging the abdomen in a counter-clockwise direction will help move the liquid higher into the colon.

(3)  After you have taken as much liquid as possible, clamp the tubing and remove the nozzle then try to hold the enema solution for 5 to 10 minutes then you can move to the toilet to expel the contents of your bowel.
Holding the enema solution for 5 to 10 minutes will ensure a good cleaning of the large intestine. The time allows the enema solution to soften the feces in the colon.

   When expelling the enema:
Massage abdomen in a clockwise direction {From the right side of your abdomen towards the left side} this will help move the liquid toward the rectum and anus.
Try not to force { bear down} the enema solution out, just relax let the large intestine work.

Massaging the abdomen while expelling the enema helps move the solution and feces toward the rectum and out the anus.

The best position for expelling your enema is squatting over the toilet.  Squatting, supports the abdominal wall and the bowel as we bear down, brings about an easier bowel evacuation.
Massaging the abdomen while expelling also helps move the wastes toward the anus and out.

An open and comfortable attitude about enemas will help others to learn this natural health treatment.
